Unbridled talent and flavour that cannot be tamed. These chefs and their cooking exemplify bold, honest and brave. International industry legend Alex Atala (D.O.M. Brazil) brings his rockstar energy and martial arts precision to Tasting Australia. D.O.M. has been a thought leader and tastemaker in Sao Paolo since 1999, peaking at #4 in the World's 50 Best Restaurants and remains a firm fixture on the esteemed list. For O Tama Carey (Lankan Filling Station, Sydney), her Sri Lankan roots mixed with formative experience cooking Chinese, French, Japanese and Italian often leads to wild ideas on the plate, many featuring curry leaves. McLaren Vale's Karena Armstrong hails from The Advertiser's Restaurant of the Year, The Salopian Inn, and draws inspiration from her rampant vegetable garden. Similarly, Oliver Edwards (The Summertown Aristologist) looks to the local Adelaide Hills community for key ingredients and unique, seasonal fare to transform into simple but spectacular dishes.
Enjoy a bespoke suite of matched wines representing the very best iconic producers from South Australia and beyond, curated and presented by guest sommeliers, the team at East End Cellars and festival beverage director Nick Stock.
